Victor Beccari from the SNSB, Munich, Germany approached the Foundation to work on a specimen of Oenosaurus from the Schaudiberg quarry in Mühlheim, Germany. He learned of the specimen from a visit by Arjan Mann who mentioned the specimen to Hans Dieter Seus at the Smithsonian. Hans knew that a PhD student of Oliver Rauhut at the SNSB was working on rhynchocephalians from the Solnhofen area. Oenosaurus is a strange looking reptile.
