Fossil Shark from Lebanon Lands in Lauer Foundation Collection

Updated: Aug 6, 2023

A complete fossil shark from the Cretaceous of Lebanon has landed. Roy Nohra, a quarry owner in Lebanon, offered the shark to the Foundation and after consulting with the NHM-UK shark team the specimen was acquired.

Dr. Charlie Underwood discussed the shark with his former students, Guillaume Guinot and Romain Vullo who have agreed to study the specimen and produce a paper. This may be something new so pictures of the specimen are unavailable.

For visual demonstration only. This is not the specimen.
