Lauer Foundation Announces New Research Paper

The Lauer Foundation announces a new research paper: Chimaeroid egg cases from the Late Jurassic of the Solnhofen area (S Germany) Our colleague, Dr. Chris Duffin, was the lead author along with co-authors Bruce and Rene Lauer on a paper describing a new Ichnotaxon, Chimaerotheca schernfeldensis. The holotype specimen is a twin egg capsule believed to come from the Solnhofen Chimaera Ischyodus. The specimen has both a part and counterpart. Egg capsules are extremely rare in the Jurassic Plattenkalk. The paper was published in the journal Neus Jahrbuch für Geologie und Paläontologie. A copy is available upon request.
