Lauer Foundation Annual Tucson Trip

We made the annual trip to the Tucson International fossil show. We met up with our UK shark team members, David and Alison Ward and visited with many of our friends and associates. We were able to meet Dr. Lionel Cavin and discussed a collaboration on coelacanth fossils from the Cretaceous of Lebanon and a separate look at the Jurassic German coelacanths from the Solnhofen Archipelago. We acquired three coelacanths from Lebanon from Pierre Saad, Memories in Time, that Dr. Cavin feels are important.

This meeting was unexpected and demonstrates the reason we go to Tucson. LF also received a donation of a rare fish from the Cretaceous of Morocco that is poorly studied and may interest Dr. Cavin.

We had great weather and it felt good to escape winter for a few days.
