We acquired an interesting little ray at the Tucson show in January which may be something new

On February 3, 2025 a paper titled “Gregarious behavior in Carboniferous cyclical crustaceans” was published in the journal Biology Letters.

Chris Duffin worked with us during his visit in October 2024 to write and compile two new research papers that were published.

Lauer Foundation contributes to Alex Ruebenstahl Study

A trip to Tucson in January is always a welcome escape from the cold of Chicago. Once again, we met with old friends and research colleagues.

We are please to announce our friend and colleague Giovanni Serafini has defended his Phd.  We met the now Dr. Serafini in 2021 in the midst of Covid.

Several years ago at the Tucson show, David Ward and the Lauer Foundation acquired a possible skull of Otodus from the phosphate mines of Morocco.

The pterosaurs are extinct flying reptiles that lived alongside their close relatives, the dinosaurs.

We are happy to announce that Dr. Russell Bicknell is a Research Associate of the Lauer Foundation.

As a result of Dr. Klug’s, University of Zurich, visit to the Lauer Foundation in May 2024 several projects were started.

Dr. Russell Bicknell and a colleague, Kirsten Farmer, visited the Lauer Foundation from November 12-16, 2024.

The Lauer Foundation attended the Society for Vertebrate Paleontology (SVP) meeting held in Minneapolis, Minnesota from October 30 thru November 3.

Our good friends and collaborators , Dr. Chris Duffin, Dr. David Ward and Alison Ward visited the Lauer Foundation to continue research.

We are proud to introduce the Lauer Foundation’s newest holotype: Lacosteaster lauerorum, a Miocene sun star.  

The Lauer Foundation is working with Shawn Hamm, the Ptychodus expert, on a project to describe one of the Foundation’s shark specimens.

Our shark research colleagues, Chris Duffin and David Ward have published two new research papers on Coprolites from Morocco.

The Lauer Foundation began a collaboration with Dr. Russell Bicknell from AMNH to study arthropods.

We’re excited to announce that Luke Rose published a paper on Triassic Lungfish in the inaugural issue of Lithodendron.

The Lauer Foundation formalized policies to clarify procedures and set expectations for collaborative projects with researchers.

Pterosaur researchers Dr. Dave Hone and Adam Fitch visited the Lauer Foundation to complete a paper and start new projects.
